Dear Colleagues: Help us provide recognition to those individuals or agencies whose efforts have provided worthy contributions to the health of their communities, reflecting the core functions of public health, and the spirit of the Public Health Improvement Partnership (PHIP) in the following categories: • Local public health agency award for work specifically related to core functions and PHIP • Local public health agency award for innovative and effective programs • Local and state public health agency award for work that represents a significant contribution to public health • Community contribution award for individuals or organizations outside of public health making a significant contribution to the health of a community’s or the entire state’s residents Nominations for recognition may be made by the leadership of any local health jurisdiction, Washington State Department of Health, or community organization. Nominations for work or programs within one’s own agency are encouraged. Deadline for nomination submission on-line or by hard copy: September 8, 2010. Awards will be presented at the Joint Conference on Health in October.
